The Russian Revolution

In 1914, the russian goverment considered Germany as a threat to their territory. This was then Germany's decision to form a triple alliance with Austria- Hungary and italy. The Russian army was the largest army in the nation but Russia's poor road and railways made the effective deployment for the soldiers difficult. The economic factors were the main factors contributing to the Revolution, as they resulted in poverty, misery and exploitation of the masses by the nobility.Russia was mainly a highly backward agricultural country before the revolution. The royal family, the nobility and the clergy owned most of the agricultural land. Only between three and ten acres of land was owned by 70% of the peasants. Many of them had to earn their livelihood only 2½ acres land or even less. In addition they had to use primitive tools, implements and methods of cultivation, which were not very productive. After the october revolution, the new bolshevik goverment abolished private ownerships of land and began distributing it among the peasents. During the civil war, the goverment decided to introduce what became known as war communism.

Causes of WW1

World War One was started in 1914.The event triggering it was the murder of Archduke Franz Ferdinand. By a member of the "black hand gang". They were of Serbian Nationalists determend to help the Serbians of Bosnia break free from Austria-Hungary control.
So when Austria-Hungary declared war on Serbia France and England came to help, Germany and Italy came to help Austria-Hungary so basikly every one was in a World War.

The Causes of the war was Nationalism, Militarism, Assassination of Franz Ferdinand.

Each nation's nationalism was cause by a buildup in military forces in the years prior to the assassination of Franz Ferdinand. The nationalist feelings also led to many men volunteering to join their nation's army.

Militarism is using military power to solve diplomatic crises, it influenced the arms rac. It was a direct cause of WW1 because the Germans based their diplomacy around their military.The arms race caused the war, both sides felt provoked after the assasination of the Ferdinand.Both sides felt threatened, they did not trust each other, and that caused the war.

"Mountains of the Moon"

In the movie "Mountain of the Moon" some hardships that the Europeans faced was Malaria this played a big role in the movies because people was dying so they were losing the strength. so if they were losing men other men had to hold the weight of two men instead of one. It was weird that the source of the Nile river was named after a British queen because the simple fact that the Lake(lake Victoria) was located in Africa and not in England. The Europeans have an advantage over the Africans because they were more modernized &&* advanced that them just fro the simple fact they had guns &&* the Africans didn't. They were able to conquer the African easiley because they had Machine guns &&* a cure for Malaria.

Imperialism Project

We did the imperialism project to see how many countries were taken over by other countries & to see how many countries took other countries over. From this project I remember at least 7 countries took other countries over that became colonies of who took them over. The thing I remember from this project was that England(Great Britain) took over the most countries.

Karl Marx && Industrial Revolution

Marx thought the industrial revolution was not good because he believed that "Workers would share wealth in a communist society." The industrial revolution inspired Karl Marx to invent communism because he did not believe in workers working long hours fro little pay and kids working for people for little or no pay.

Karl Marx and Communism

Karl Marx idea of communism was that workers should share wealth in a Communist society and he said "from each according to his abilities, to each according to his needs."
Communism is a social-economical sructure that is based on onwership. And everybody gets the same right and freedom. Karl Marx wanted communism to take over the world because he thought that everybody should be treated the same and no aveerage man should be treated better than the other man. Karl marx thought the good people was the workers and the bad people was the Bosses and Owners.
